My best suggestion would be to go to a shop and try out a few guitars, then post what you played and we'll try to help you from there.

Also, what kind of music do you like?

If you're serious about playing, I'd suggest finding what style music you're most into, and buying a guitar based upon that. Certain guitars are better suited for different styles.

As for your budget, I've found that $150-200 doesn't quite cut it for a "good" guitar. Everyone I've ever known never likes their first guitar after they've played long enough to tell the difference. I wish I could go back and get all the money out of all of the equipment that I've bought in the past, and put it towards gear I love. That's not to say that your case fits that description, but I'd suggest going to the $350 range to find something worth playing for a long time.

Hope you find what you're looking for.
