Well, hi everyone.

I've been playing guitar for a little over a year now, and well... yeah I'm pretty good I guess. I can improvise and stuff, but first, I'm horrible at speedpicking and legatos so... yeah. I'm also trying to do more ear training and memorizing the fretboard, because when I improvise, it still doesn't feel very structured unless I'm using a specific scale, it just feels random and out of sheer luck.

Right now I have an Ibanez acoustic and a Xaviere semi hollow tele with P90 pups, and a used Epiphone amp that I can't even tell what model exactly it is. It's a little practice one though, with an onboard overdrive that's never enough. I've been trying to save up for a distortion pedal and maybe a flanger or wah-wah, but I suck at saving up so... yeah.

I'm only 13 (not shy to admit it) and I love Pink Floyd. I also love most classic rock bands, from Led Zeppelin to KISS, to The Beatles. Anything pre-grunge and with a distorted guitar is alright in my book. In fact, I can't get into most 'rock' bands nowadays, except for Rise Against and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but... yeah. I also consider Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, and John Frusciante to be either inspirations or just plain gods. (excluding Jimi Hendrix of course)

So yeah... don't want to bore you with any more details, happy to get on a community for guitarists and get some questions answered. :)

hi Axix welcome to the boards. i love alot of classic rock and metal myself (of course i'm older than dirt so thats what i grew up with). Epi amps (except for the tube ones) just plain suck. do what you can to save and get a better amp and that may solve alot of your tone problems. feel free to ask all the ?s you want we're here to help.
and now for something completely different

Meh, well, my Epi run clean sounds great, and it can get pretty loud without getting messed up, it's really the onboard overdrive that's the only problem, and I've tested it out with another guy's pedalboard, and it still worked smoothly so it'll be good until I can afford something bigger and better.
