Hiya people.

I just got me a Pod PRO second hand. Is there any software that I need?
Been to the website to register it but it says that I have to contact the shop where I got it from then they can unregister it...I have, but the chap said he can't get in touch with the guy he bought it off.
Other than that it's working fine..any help would be gratefully recieved.

cheers

Pod farm is the normal software that would be used but you can use anything you like.

Guitar Rig, Riffworks, gearbox and ableton Live are some ideas.

When you buy a new pod and you install the software it asks you to register the device with the website in order to get updates, sadly this means you will have you pay for it to be registered to you most likly and in a worse scenario you would need to by a new pod.

The software and the updates can be downloaded from torrent sites and others so i would not bother with all that to much.

There are many tools to use and all you need to use your device with them is the drivers for the pod model that you have, those can be found online or on the disc if you got 1 with it.
Gear:

Guitar - Ibanez GRG170DX Black Night
Strings - Daddario 8.38 EXL
Leads - Planet Waves 10ft Circuit Breaker, Pw Classic 10 channel stereo Lead
Pedals/FX - Zoom 505, Marshall Drive Master
Amp - Vox AD15VT-XL 15 Watt
Recording - Line 6 POD Studio GX, Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 5.25 bay
Software - GR3, Fl Studio, AFT Pro, Pod Farm

Struggling to make it a 'device' on laptop, coz I'm going in through the 'line-in' socket. The Pod has no usb port on it, only midi...and my laptop got no 'midi-in' socket...so...Would it work by getting a MIDI-USB cable, if there is any such thing.

It works fine recording through the line-in, but am I right in thinking that if I had the Pod hooked up as a device I'd be able to use the different tones in gearbox after I've recorded a clean sound?

Sorry, I'm well dumb with computers.

cheers

Right, Sorry i was thinking thinking it had a usb connection but when i look it up i see that it's the Pod Pro XT series that has usb connectivity and the older Pod Pro has only the standard outputs like the midi.

I'm not an expert sorry, I'm an IT Technician so i can't help with it more.

Check The Line 6 Site and google.
