I,ve got a Rickenbacker 4001 copy made by Gherson. Some info on Gherson. These guitars and basses were made in Italy up to the early 1980s. Gherson were the only company until Tokai to build a copy of the SG double neck as played by Jimmy Page. So I,ve got a Gherson Ricky copy and it is a million times better than the current crop of Hondo copies turning up on ebay at really silly prices. Bottom line is,this is a proper copy, with thru neck construction, stereo out put and twin truss rods. It needs a set up and I,m sorting that out. I,d like to know,as Ricky copies have been outlawed by US federal courts and Rickenbacker themselves, how much would this guitar be worth? I,ve seen Hondos going for £500 on ebay. This bass is supirior to any Hondo. I should know,I had one of those back in 1983!! Any comments? RALPH |
