Credit Card Guitar Picks; Are They Any Good?

I have just made some guitar picks out of old credit cards and personally think they are very good but I was wondering what you thought of them.

To make them follow these steps:

  • 1.Get An Old Credit Card
  • 2.Get A Pick
  • 3.Draw Around The Pick Onto The Credit Card
  • 4.Cut Out The Pick From The Credit Card
  • 5.File Down The Edges Using A Nail File
  • 6.Play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks,

i'm not rich enough to cut up my cards :'( . most credit cards are kinda thin and tend to have layers of plastic to put in security devices etc. i don't know how long they would last. i use thicker picks and c'mon they're only like .50 cents i'd rather just use my card to buy a bunch then cut it up
and now for something completely different

Now.. i've used bank cards/credit cards as plectrums before when ive been desperate, they are too soft i find, disintergrate rapidly, and after maybe 15 minutes they are bumpy and rough.

You can buy these on ebay for like £1.. I had some UK Flag ones, they lasted one practise! They are strong picks but wore right down when i started shredding.. Purple stubbys all the way!

I tend to do the same thing. I would buy plectrums where I live, but I can't get to the shop and when I can I can't buy any anyway as Cypriots rip you off big time.
