Now, i'm pretty sure this is in the worng place but i this is my 3rd topic so please dont shoot me.

anyway, i'm a british GCSE student who was kick out of my old band in the the summer break, i hold nothing against the guitarist (i was vocals), or the bassist. but the drummer had been building up to the moment i was booted with literally months of bitching. so i'm looking to make him look like a fool by showing him what i can do with doing a amazingly impreesive live performance at the schools winter festival. now this isnt a crap caberet where the parents sit around and clap hardest when their darlings get on stage. basically the whole music crowd gets on the bill plays on stage does a couple songs to a standing crowd who are more than willing to boo you off if you suck proverbial.

so i aim to do an amazing show. i'm primarily a vocalist and so i'l be performing with a pre recording of me playing synth/drums/guitar/bass/etc. in the background. so i need to know what you like to see at a live show. i'm going for an almost theatrical serj tankien feel with a black suit with a top hat and a pewer snake head cane/walking stick.

so just some ideas please.

hmmm....... It's ok to on that kind of suit an that kind of stuff, but it has to suit you althogether. It would be like Lemmy throwing a burberry party with him rapping. a funny as that would be it just wouldn't work :P

You also have to have good songs and be able to perform well, any ones you got in mind?

I'd like to see someone with presence ya now? someone who looks the shit, acts right and can get the crowd going :D

hmm, the songs are of my own writing, the vocals are quite difficult and the guitar is heavy if you've ever heard serj tankien a bit like that basic crowd pleasing lyrics and some stuff like that.

just my opinion but i think you're on the wrong track completely. the show has to complement the songs and a great song needs no show. honestly you need to find others to form a band. you singing with taped music isn't gonna be more impressive than karaoke night at the pub. if you wan to show up the other guys then put to gether a better band and show them that losing you was indeed a major **** up.
and now for something completely different

i supposebut i dont really want to form a band, i want to do things at my own pace. i can get some people in (all i'd need is a drummer and a bassist) but i'd have to learn how to play and sing before december 15th.

and i dont think i'll be able to.

i see what you're saying about the show but these are 12-18 year old kids who want nothing more than some wow factor and a bassline that makes the floor tremble.
so maybe i need to ask what would go with the kind of music i'm doing. i havent recorded anything yet so its hard to get an idea of it so i'll find something like it.

:)
thanks for the feedback.
