Older than that. The oldest post I can find is from June 06.

I registered in September 2006, so we're well past our second anniversary now.

It really depends on what sound you want and what music you're looking to play. If you're playing in large venues and with a band, then you really will want a tube amp and a good guitar. Better wood, more stable hardware, better pick-ups; this helps to improve your sound. My first suggestion to you is to get a better guitar, or at least get your pick-ups replaced by some awesome ones (like a Dimebucker or Squealin' Demon from Seymour Duncan).

You said you played lots of metal all-around? You included metalcore, death metal as well as power metal and speed metal - a real shredder, in other words. I'd suggest looking for alternatives to the Marshall. Most shredders and modern hardcore metal guitarists tend to go with scooped mids. There's lots of bass and lots of high-register, and a Marshall is really all about those nice low-mids and mids.

I'd suggest you get a tube amp between 50 and 100 watt. They're enough to gig with, and several of those combos can have extension cabs attached to them. Try a T-Rex Bloody Mary (a distortion/overdrive pedal) coupled with a boost pedal for a raw, modern metal tone. I don't think you could go wrong with a VK112 or VK212 from Peavey.

If you MUST have a Marshall... get a ValveState at the very least. Most of that trademark Marshall sound comes from tubes.

That looks like a really ugly, lousy Rhoads guitar.

@ Topic starter: Don't buy that guitar ^_^
