Retired Posts: 290 Group: Retired Member #745 Joined: July 3, 2007	Right so, after years of laziness, and the "no-one i know shares my musical tastes" excuse, I have decided that come college I shall find some like minded metalheads to jam and hopefully form a band. However, I have been toying with names for this for a while (i might make it a solo thingy until i find sum dudes to jam with). So, names for a thrash band ne1? I already came up with Atomic Assault and Skull Krusher? Anymore suggestions?

Posts: 1,032 Group: Moderator Member #8,625 Joined: June 23, 2008	a little advice on band names stay away from obvious choices. there are probably 20 bands or more with both of the names you came up with. originallity is the key. a funny thing about band names is that if you're band fails people often may think its becasue of the stupid name if you succeed then that same name is so cool. fantasy and sci fi books are great places to pilfer names from i love conan books and they have tons of weird names that could be used for bands like one book had a wizard names Xanatos (x pronounced as z) you can bet there aren't 20 bands with that name and it sounds metal.

I've just been ditched for flipping 3 doors flipping down Anyways, thanks for the reply dude, its a good idea and i did have a browse (i like to read lol, lots of warhammer books, tolkien etc) but its not really what im looking for. I want a sort of toungue-in-cheek sort of thing. Kinda like Anthrax began like. I want a really cheesy thrash name hence the two i suggested, but i do see your originality perspective. Anyone got any suggestions? Or more places to look for ideas? I tried really not to swear in that paragraph, anyway where on gods earth is the angry smiley!!!!!! P.S How about Atomic Devastation, lol 1 cool thrash word+other cool thrash word = band name a myspace search reveals its my idea. Posts: 1,032 Group: Moderator Member #8,625 Joined: June 23, 2008	if you want cheesy and kinda fun then go for something totally outrageous. just think of the most out of hand name that couldn't possibley be taken serious. if you can find any of Piledrivers songs on line give them a liton for inspirtation. any band that has a song called sodomize the dead (this was long before death metal) is good for a chucle. the song Metal Inquisition is really funny and makes for a good band name as well.
