Heres a list of easy/intermediate/advanced mods for a Stratocaster, be it Fender or Squier. Any questions, feel free to ask. I would be happy to help.

Here we go.

What you could do:
-Neck-On switch. Check my thread here: http://electricguitarforums.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3250

-Replace the Nut (with a graptech nut)

-Take off the backplate.

-Reconfigure the Trem springs

-You could block the trem (better sustain)

-Change the Tone Capacitor HERE: http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/tonerange.php

-Assigning other pickups for each tone control, check:
http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/sw1.php
and http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/bridgetone.php

-Change pickups, like putting a Humbucker in the Bridge.

-Changing Volume/Tone potentiometers HERE: http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/potm.htm

-Treble Bleed Mod HERE: http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/potm.htm
and HERE: http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/volpass.php

-Sheild the cavity

-Phase switching HERE: http://www.treblebooster.com/brian_may_pickup_mod.htm

-Series/Paralell switch: http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/serpar.php AND http://www.treblebooster.com/brian_may_pickup_mod.htm

-Scallop the neck: http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/scal1.htm

-Killswitch

Good luck.

-Mick
