where does the battery go? I haven't got space under the pickguard on my strat or precision basses and I wouldn't dream of routing them out to fit one of these things

I find that hard to believe , we have been installing fret lights and glowguards , and EMG ,for over 5 years , and with the exception of a couple of cheap copys the battery always fits , we have supplied 100's of the plates for many different makes and models and our customers have all seemed to be able to fit the battery into there guitar without routing , And don't forget its the same as a set of EMG's , they sell 1000's of sets and all require a 9 volt battery.

my strat's not bathtub routed, i've not taken my tele apart so I don't know how that's routed and I don't know where a battery would fit in this \/ and still leave room for the pots and the jack socket, etc. and there is even less room in my JV Squier. I know guys that have bought emgs for precisions and jazzes and can't fit a battery in without extra routing to fit either a battery box or even a clip.

I'm not discounting them - I'm sure it's probably easier than I think they are to fit and they're kinda cool.

What's the Gretsch-a-like with all the tape on it? Is that a midi pickup?

Personally..... I'd have thought that the only Markers that needed to be lit were the Markers on the Edge of the Fingerboard? But then I am missing the whole point I'm sure? I just wouldn't consider doing that to anything that I own. Others views may well vary. ;)

Have you tried it here.

i've not really thought of it, although to be totally honest, I've not needed to.

A P is a P to me and shouldn't need active electronics which is what i'd normally associate with a requirement for a battery.

Is there a switch to turn them on and off?

My mate had a Mark King-alike Jazz which had Sims LEDs retrofitted. There was a switch to make them pulse in time with what was being played which was kind of cool.

Edited the title to say dark and not "drak"

and partly because there's nothing else going on around here.
