Is this your first time using this guitar? Sounds like someone blocked the trem off. Check for a block of wood under the trem cover on the back of the guitar. |

OK Mate.....I need a bit more info than that.....but when you say it isn't working.....I assume you mean that there is NO movement at all when you push or pull the Bar? If that's what you mean....No Probs and I can sort you out no probs....All you'll need is a Phillips Head Screw Driver

Take off the trem cover on the back of the guitar check to see if theres a block off wood anywhere near where the trem sticks through the body. |

OK......Turn the Guitar Over. Face Down OK There is a Plate on the Back that is held on by 6 Screws. Take the screws out and remove the Plate. You will now see Some Springs......sometimes 4...sometimes more. Now I am assuming that you are Right Handed? Ok.....Look between the Solid Lump of Metal that the springs are attacked too (Where your Strings go in) and the Back of the Hole that holds all this stuff....IF you can see a lump of wood.......Try GENTLY removing it. I hasten to add that I feel it HIGHLY unlikely that you will see anything in there. OK.....Now Look at the other end of the cavity (Your Left hand side) There is a Metal Claw that holds the other end of the Springs. This is held in place by 2 Screws. If you can get a Screw Driver into those screws.....start to loosen them....But do it SLOWLY. a Half Turn at a Time will do. Keep checking what you can see on the front of the Guitar.......Look carefully at the BACK of the Bridge......it will start to lift VERY slightly clear of the Body eventually. BUT what I would like you to do first is just keep on slackening those screws until you can pop a spring OFF and out completely using a Screw Driver. PLEASE don't try this until you have slackened off the tension FIRST. OK....so lets assume you now have 3 Springs in there? Turn the Guitar back over so that you are looking at the Front. Does the Bridge have 6 Screws holding it on? these will be in a line along the front of the Bridge. IF so........Loosen all 6 Screws, Raise them so that they are JUST clear of the Bridge Plate. Tune your Guitar and then Tighten The Out side Screws so that they are level with the Bridge Plate. These two become your Pivots and the other 4 are for stability. NOW turn the Guitar over again and keep slackening the two Screws in the Spring Claw very slowly until you can see a Gap under the Back of the Bridge when you turn the guitar back over and look at it. Retune your Guitar...........Now......Try your Trem arm....You should now have a slight upward movement and a greater Downwards movement? OK? Now detune the Guitar ONE String at a time and pop some Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly into each Groove in the Nut the pop the string back in and Tune it up again. Do this with all of the Grooves. You should now have a working Trem. PLEASE.....Take Your Time doing all of this....it is quite Labour intensive...but well worth the effort because IF you have done this correctly.....You have just saved yiourself.....£25 at a Guitar Techs. OH.....and Mine's a Guinness please!
