I just wanted to chuck in my 2 bits on being relaxed...

In my view, being relaxed is essential. Tension slows you down.

I always find that after a glass of wine or a few whiskeys that relaxation comes quite freely and the appreciation for music making gets enhanced... over 18s / 21s of course!

Rob, could you explain what you meant by alternate and economy picking please?

Alternate Picking is where every pick strock is either an Up or a Down Strock. Like this ,,,,,Up, Down, Up, Down.

Economy Picking is where if you are playing a phrase that requires you to pick on one string....(say the 2nd) and then on the 1st..You still do the Up and Down Strokes,,but you keep your Pick between the two strings.
Practiced.....this can give you an amazing turn of speed. ;)
"Drunk" is feeling sophisticated even though you can't say it!

I agree with Jo on most counts....I find that a couple of G&Ts and I am suitably relaxed.
3.....Well it gets more interesting
4.....Very......er......"Radical"
5.....I'm in danger of Drooling
6.....I AM Drooling

Anymore than that and would someone PLEASE rescue the Poor Guitar from my Clutches.

Well its coming together, slowly but surely, just need that RP250 which er indoors had kindly agreed to buy for my birthday.

Tab looks very hard to fret at first glance, but when I start to study it closely the shortcuts become apparent.

The best advice so far, play the scales over and over, doing that has forced fingers 3 and 4 into the frame, and what a difference.

Thankyou all so far.

Had a look at some Pink Floyd tabs last night  , maybe next year ;)

I will keep you posted and hopefully in a few weeks will nail the whole number.
