Well I think some Ibanez's are pretty good, I've not tried that many, but what I have played seem Ok. (edit) Also Herman Li from Dragonforce uses Ibanez guitars, if that counts for anything to you

my friend wanted me to help him buy a new guitar and he was really attracted to Ibanezs. his price range was $600 but he was hoping for less. so i searched around and found a decent Ibanez. for $80 less i found an ESP that was better than it in every way. looks, neck & body design, and sound. So if you're looking for an Ibanez you might also want to look at some ESPs too. |

If you like Ibanez, I think the best quality for price one is the S740 (or S470, not sure) |

i dont have much experience in owning an ibanez but i do know that the grg's and grx's arent that great, there are much better deals for the money. look into esps or fernandes. i recently found out that there is a new budget version of the fernandes ravelle and apparently its good too. the budget version looks just as sick and is under $200 (US) |

Yeah, quite a few people have said that the GRG's arent too great. Well,my price range is round about $200,but bear in mind im in South Africa,so prices will be different. I'll be sure to check out the ESP and ask some friends. Thanks for the info! |

I was considering buying a Ibanez RG350EX. But from what I have heard Ibanez's are just crap tacky imports. I will see if I can try one out, I really just want a shred worthy guitar. |

ibeanzs tend to be used for shred where as esp tend to have thicker necks for just pure heavy metal |

Hehe.... the "lead" guitar player from Staind
I've owned at least 13 Ibanez guitars over the years, and am currently considering purchasing 2 more. The majority of them have been mid to high level Japanese models (RG470, S540, RG7421, SC220), but I've had a bunch of Korean ones, too (AX220, AX120, SZ320). I've had a GAX70 kicking around for a few years, and it's pretty decent. The best of all the cheap stuff they make is the RG170. Used, they typically run around $175-200. If you've gotta buy cheap, that one's your best bet, with the GAX70 a semi-close second. $100 will get you a used one of those. Typically, Ibanez stuff that starts with a G isn't that great, but they're still better than comparably priced stuff from lots of other manufacturers. |
Gibson, Ibanez, Kramer, Seymour Duncan, Dunlop, SIT, and Ernie Ball
