Im not sure if this is in the right forum or not but:

how long have you all been playing your respective instruments and how old were you when you started? do you have any cool stories about why/how you started?

personaly, i started playing electric guitar when i was about 14 and a half. ive been playing for about 2 and a half years now and along the way ive picked up acoustic guitar, keyboard, ukulele, and bass.

i dont have any fancy stories about my beginings, i just wanted to play cus my uncle does and i thought he looked cool playing it. once i saved up enough i bought my crappy strat knock-off i fell in love. it didnt take too long but now ive passed my uncles playing ability, but thats to be expected when i can practice for hours and he has never had much time to practice.

I was like 13 or so when I started, and I'll be 27 friday. Wow.... I still remember the first time my dad handed me his Les Paul and plugged it into his Fender Super Reverb. I was like, "This sounds stupid... my friend's guitar was all buzzy and stuff." He said, "Oh, ok. Hang on." and plugged in an old home made distortion pedal. Four hours later, I could play the riff from Iron Man :D
Gibson, Ibanez, Kramer, Seymour Duncan, Dunlop, SIT, and Ernie Ball :D

I have a cousin who plays guitar, when I said I was considering taking up guitar he was flattered and when he was teaching me stuff I was so bad I felt really embarrased cause he was so good, and everything he taught me I did it wrong. :P But now I am way better than than I was before.
