I've been playing an acoustic for years, due to a severe lack of electric guitars in my personal surroundings. I only just got myself an electric, after god knows how many years. One thing I have discovered is that if you can get good at playing on an acoustic you will be twice as good on an electric. |

Yupp acoustic is very hard to play. well harder than electric; so actually lucky you for playing on an acoustic for so long! I have an acoustic. I don't play on it so much but I'll sing along on it, playing chords because that's more complimentary for me as opposed to an electric with plenty of distortion

I suppose these days I play as much Acoustic as Electric? I started out as purely an Acoustic Guitarist..... NO NO NO....None of That Devil's Electric Music for Me!!!!!! Well not then anyway. So I have always had Acoustics around and play them more or less continuously. I do agree that starting on an acoustic does tend to leave you with a slightly stronger Fretting hand. But it should also end up leaving you with a Really Useful Right Hand too.......Fingerstyle, Clawhammer etc. |

i have an acoustic, which i try to play as much as my electric, it usually depends on the mood i'm in for which one i pick up and play, never had a go of a classical though, maybe look into that in the future though |
