Hi, does anybody here play acoustic? I am getting a classical soon. I didn't want it, but it was part of a deal I had. I will play it a little bit, I do like them, just not really my thing. Anybody else play them? |

Yeah I play classical guitar, I'm pretty into it actually, and I prefer it to electric. I like playing classical 'cos you can play a self contained piece on your own without a band, and you can play solos at school concerts and stuff. On the other hand, electric guitar players look infinitely cooler than me, and they don't get mocked in guitar shops for holding the guitar like a pansy. But hey. I can play greensleeves. End of

lol, I prefer electric and don't play acoustic much but a guitar player is a guitar player. I figure that you wont be posting much in the amps and electric guitar forums but oh well. What guitars you got? |

I play my 175 unplugged a lot, but I don't really play any different than I would with it cranked. My wife did just get me a Dinosaur classical from a garage sale. It was like $5, and the neck joint cracked when she brought it home
Some dumbass had steel strings on it, which is a big no-no! (classical guitars aren't made to withstand the additional strain steel strings have). I shot it full of wood glue, so we'll see what happens. Even if it sucks, I'll give it to my 4 yr. old
I do like playing acoustic, but a couple years ago, I went acoustic shopping, decided on a Martin, then couldn't afford it, and now everything sucks by comparison. |
Gibson, Ibanez, Kramer, Seymour Duncan, Dunlop, SIT, and Ernie Ball

Ive got a Montana Acoustic. It's a great guitar and sounds excellent if you have the right amp. I ont play it much anymore though->I just got an electric. It's still a great guitar and sounds good when you dont plug it in an amp. |
