yeah, thanks for that, I am getting a new amp (mesa dual rectifier) soon so it will hopefully have enough overdrive. I do however have a tube amp already but I am not fond of it |

Even with your Rectifier, an overdrive pedal will improve the sound. If you run one like I mentioned before (as a clean boost, drive on 0, volume on 10), it'll make your tone more articulate and powerful. If you listen to any bands like Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Between the Buried and Me, Everytime I Die, Unearth, etc.... they ALL use them. |

I would also reccomend this:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/DigiTech-DF7-Distortion-Factory-Modeling-Pedal?sku=150838 You can try out 7 differnt distortion/Overdrive pedals, find the one you want for the same price for the TS9. |

Metal zones are not versatile enough. Get a Boss OD20......the best overdrive pedal next to the tubescreamer. IMO, tubescreamers should just be used for lead, no rythm. |
