My First Blog Entry

Well, here it is - the first of my blog entries. Inspired by fellow forumite Rampant, I've decided to start writing frequant (well, I say that) blog posts.

I've started writing already - but I'm still not sure where I'm going with this

Well I'll start with the website. We have just got the forums back after a long battle with our domain registrar to get it back. The original domain was cancelled unexpectedly - hence why one minute, EGF was booming and the next it was gone

So then it started, my search to actually find EGF. It had been lost in the internet. Hosted remotely, it was impossible to find where the forum was located without the original domain (which I had forgotten!). So I had to trawl forums I had previously been a member of hoping to find any posts I had made regarding EGF. After about a week or so of searching I managed to finally find where the forum was. I thought to myself 'Horray, EGF is saved!' - wrong.

Next came the battle with the registrar to let us have .co.uk back. I'd managed to secure .com and set that up to work with the forum, so EGF was back. The battle is still ongoing as to whether we will be getting .co.uk back. They want us to stump up nearly £30 to change the registrar back to them, because when they cancelled it, they detagged it - basically, threw it away.

So whether or not we will get back .co.uk is unknown as of yet. Check the next blog post to see whether or not we get it!

In the meantime, I'm on a weeks leave from work so I have much more time to spend on the forums. I'm spending every minute trying to get everything back on track. We are also trying to raise money to pay the fees required by the registrar to get EGF going. I have nothing left to sell (apart from my ONLY guitar ) and the bank account is currently in the red. Lets all cross our fingers and hope we manage it!
